Dandy [dan-dee]: an excellent thing of its kind, something of exceptional or first-rate quality AND in the case of Dandy’s Artisan Ice Cream, a combination of the founder’s name, Daniela Mintenko and her three ice cream loving dogs, Teddy, Crazy, and Cherry.
Daniela has always had a love for ice cream. Growing up in Colombia, ice cream was the main dessert and always homemade. This love for ice cream made her realize she wanted to create artisan ice cream. Daniela completed her Pastry Arts Diploma at the Northwest Culinary Academy of Vancouver and attended Penn State University for Ice Cream 101 and Short Course.
Dandy’s Artisan Ice Cream is a new leader in premium ice cream that’s handcrafted one small batch at a time. Modern flavours come together with local, seasonal ingredients, Canadian dairy, and made-from-scratch inclusions. We are committed to creating the best ice cream using local ingredients coming from local companies who share the same passion as us, to support the local economy and build strong roots in our community. We take pride in selecting the best ingredients to make exceptional ice cream in outrageous flavours to make people happy.
Our passion for ice cream shows in everything we do. From the kitchen, using the best techniques and premium ingredients, to featuring seasonal recipes inspired by our team and local producers. We know how important it is to have our team involved, to give a sense of pride that is contagious that will be shared onto our guests with fantastic customer experience.
We also take steps to be a green company by using compostable to-go packaging, using eco-friendly products, sourcing local ingredients, reducing our waste by recycling and finding ways to reuse or compost our food scraps.
